Product Description: The first double-edged or safety razors were manufactured in 1901 by Gillette. The Art of Shaving has continued the tradition of shaving with these types of razors by offering an elegant selection of safety razors, all handmade in Solingen, Germany. We use the same high standards of quality and manufacturing as were used in 1901, and the best possible quality steel available today.

Rated 5 out of 5 by German cleaning at it's finest I just upgraded from a van der hagen TTO(aka the one touch micro or at least the same manufacturer) the merkur 34c hd. This razor is amazing. It feels great in the hand and has a nice weight. I used it with a fresh feather blade and wow, just wow. It seems to take no effort at all to shave and all I need are 3 passes and a slight clean up. Plus, I get almost no razor bumps. I do have a few, but I think I am still heeling. I say this because my TTO would end up giving me razor burn. This is definitely an amazing razor and if I didn't say it before, I'll say it again. I highly recommend this razor to new de shavers and experienced shavers alike October 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice Shave Just bought this a week ago to replace a Gillette ProGlide. What a difference! Closer shave, no irritation, no razor burn, or nicks [yet]. Still getting used to it, but what a difference. July 22, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Heavyweight Safety Razor Chrome I was really debating on getting a safety razor, but I pulled the trigger finally last week! I'm getting the best shave ever now!!! May 11, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Almost perfect I appreciate the weight of this razor; just wish the handle was longer while maintaining the weight. The longer handled version felt too light for my preference. February 26, 2014
