Product Description: The carbon steel blade is hollow ground to deliver a more comfortable shave and provide the sharpest edge.

Rated 2 out of 5 by TOO EXPENSIVE I purchased this razor at the local mall near me and did not know at the time of purchase that razor blades for this product are next to impossible to get! The store informed me to break a double sided razor in half in order to continue using. At 50.00 you would think there should be some type of access to future blades?Would have been better ordering this product from Amazon for 20.00 cheaper w/no blades. August 29, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Serves the purpose, but you'll want to move up later (Black male) Last year I switched to using a cheap safety razor ($10 at a beauty store- didn't want to drop 70 - 200 on a good razor) from the Fusion Pro glide. I got a better shave with the safety razor, but it wasn't perfect (nicks, cuts etc). Additionally, I couldn't edge or shape my goatee and mustache. After awhile, and with practice, the problems of nicks and cuts lessened considerably. I wanted to use a straight razor to shape my goatee and mustache vs using the edger on the fusion. However, a straight razor intimidated me and dropping $100 plus on a straight didn't really sit well. The shavette seemed like a good option (low cost) - in my mind it was the same as a straight and cheaper. WRONG. Firstly, the shavette is not a bad product. A few points (good and bad) about the shavette: It's unforgiving in that you must go slow and use good technique. If you don't, you will cut yourself. Using better blades helps. No maint required. If you travel by air, you can pack the shavette in your carry on and pack the blades separate (for that reason I'll keep it in my bag). In the end and once perfected, the shavette suits my purposes fairly well. However, now I want the real deal. I hear the shavettes shave nothing like a straight razor. Also, I like weight to my razors and the shavette is LIGHT. I guess I'll find out soon what the true differences are. What I have learned in all this - DON'T GO THE CHEAP ROUTE on any of your products. I changed to a higher quality safety razor (Merkur Futur) and I can't believe the difference. I'm hoping the same holds true for the straight razor. For the price, the shavette is a good product. But, you will grow out of it. June 23, 2013
