Rated 5 out of 5 I don't know why I never used this stuff in the past! Since I started using a safety razor, I've done a bit of bored time studying the proper way to shave with it. Nowwhere have I seen mention of pre shave oil. The stuff is very thick and you apply it before you lather. It's amazing how much smoother things are when you use it. I did the "Pepsi Challenge" only using it on half of my face and it was no comparison. I've been preaching the use of an single bladed razor for a couple of years now. Now I'll be championing for this stuff as well. December 11, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by My art of shaving kit I usually am a dry shave kind of guy. Due to my face breaking out after I use creams and lotions. But after using this kit, I felt very refreshed and smooth. My face surprisingly enough did not breakout. Very nice product and would recommend it to consumers. December 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Makes My Shaving Much Smoother I have never used a Pre-Shave oil before, and I have been shaving for a long time. I never really thought about using one because I usually am on a hurry when I shave, and I just want to be "done" with shaving. Maybe it's also because I don't like the whole experience with shaving. To me it is usually an everyday task that needs to get done so I can move on with other tasks that I need to get done. I wanted to experience The Art of Shaving Pre-Shave Oil to see what difference it was going to do. The Pre-Shave Oil comes in a size 2oz, and although it looks like it's not much, but a little goes a long way. I only applied a dime size for my whole face right before I applied the shaving gel. I noticed that it instantly coated my beard and the beard felt smooth. Also the scent isn't as strong as I first thought it was. It is a mild lavender scent. This is such a great experience for me because I noticed that the Pre-Shave Oil has made it easier for the razor to glide on and shave my beard. Also, my skin felt much smoother afterwards. I absolutely love the idea of the Pre-Shave Oil, and this will be included in my everyday regimen from now on! December 9, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Maybe not use it for shaving :) I’m not much of a fan of applying oil to my skin, let alone my face. But since I got The Art of Shaving Full Size Kit “ Lavender from #BzzAgent #GotItFree, figured I’d give it a try. Once I was able to wiggle the bottle out of its tight resting spot in the kit (not easy to do with wet or slippery fingers) I opened it up to and the subtle lavender smell filled the bathroom. That was quite nice. Next I took the plunge and poured some oil on my hands and proceeded to wipe all over my face. While it felt nice (hint for the wise, warm the bottle filled with lotion before applying), that just wasn’t a relaxing feeling, at least to me anyway :) Then it was time to open the shaving cream container. That didn’t work so well. SInce I had the oil on my hands nothing I attempted to grip was grippable anymore. (hint #2 to the even wiser, open all products before starting any of this) I’m really not to sure if the oil softened my beard so probably won’t use it for that again. Although I did find a fabulous use for it, the oil makes a great massage oil to apply to your favorite massage partner!! If nothing else, I’d suggest buying this product for the massage purpose alone! Oh ya, it does have a very nice and subtle Lavender smell too; even for those like me with allergies to strong perfumes. I've included a picture of the oil prep with this review, no not the massage but how I warmed it up before using in a warm bowl of water. December 9, 2014
