Works great! Looks classy! Still using the cream but it works way better with this bowl and the soap is gonna be perfect for travel!
Great scent
My husband love this and has been using this for a while now, lasts a while, please bring back the refills for the Sandalwood one! Very easy to travel with. Thank you for creating it.
Extremely poor lather and dries out on your face before you can put your brush down. The Art of Shaving customer service is absolutely horrible. After multiple attempts to return and item to them they seem to be invincible and don’t stand behind their products.
Just ordered a refill. I'm a believer in wet shaving. Electric does not shave as close. Love these products
I was confused about the description. So I called and spoke to someone to make sure I understood correctly. On the website it says, “ SANDALWOOD SHAVE SOAP W/ BOWL”. It also Says, “ free refill included”. The person on the phone assured me that I would get the soap and the bowl plus a free refill. I didn’t get an additional free refill just the soap in the bowl. I think that advertising is very misleading. And I’ve been a customer for a long time.
The scent is good but the first couple of times I tried it, I couldn't get a lather. The soap creates a foam but it's more like regular soap foam and dries quickly. It doesn't really great a protective and whipped cream like lather for the blade to glide better.
I have been using your products for many years. I get them when I am in Orlando or order online. You don't have the same products or Quality. The Cypress and Sandalwood cologne was my favorite but no longer available and I am old school with a Badger hair brush and Sandalwood cake soap. It seems that you have changed the formula and It doesn't last as long with a higher price. Many other Quality products available. I hope you get your swagger back!
I do not like the shape soap. While it does smell good and applies well it dries out very quickly. I have to keep reapplying it in. It makes for a subpar product. Just to think I paid $70 for this and now that I've used it I can't return it. I am not happy with this purchase. I've had a better experience with shave soap that cost $11.99 versus paying upwards near the hundred dollar range.
There’s not much to add to the other one and two star reviews, the big negative is the lather, just isn’t there.

The shaving soap provides very little lather and is not nearly as smooth a shave as with the shaving cream.
Disappointed in this product. While the scent is phenomenal the actual lather is nothing less than disappointing. After hours of trying different amounts of water and brush combinations, could not generate a thick, creamy lather. Lather that was generated was thin and dissolved once applied to face under a minute. Have no issues with this from much cheaper products.
I love the shave soap and kudos the salesperson for suggesting the pre-shave oil; it makes the shave just that much more satisfying and easy. No irritated skin, just a smooth shave on my face and head(I'm clean up top as well)
There’s nothing wrong with this soap. In fact, to give it its due, it has some of the richest sandalwood fragrance of any shaving soap. But, at $34 for a refill, it’s 2 to 3 times the cost of shaving soaps of similar quality. The far superior products of, say, a Declaration Grooming, just to name one, about 60% of the cost. The ultra high-end Floris soaps are basically the same price. AoS has some good stuff. The unscented pre-shave gel, for example, is a good product and difficult to find unscented alternatives. But they are WAY overpriced for the quality. They focus on wet shave novices who don’t fully appreciate the various alternatives. Budweiser quality, which isn’t terrible, but at small batch craft beer prices.
This is hands down, the best shaving soap I have used. It smells amazing and helps get a smoothest shave that I have had in a while. Sandalwood is my favorite smell. I really like the wood bowl that the soap comes in. I leave it out on bathroom counter and it looks really cool. Another quality product from Art of Shaving!

Overall I would recommend this set as previously I had my goto soap so it was a nice change of scent.

I did nit have a brush to apply but this still lathered up will with just using my hands. It was easy to apply and kept my razor gliding easily. Really enjoyed the smell and how soft my skin felt after the shave.
Love the design of the container and the soap smelled great and was great for shaving.

The lather is creamy and very rich. It adheres well and gives a smooth, even coating on your face.
This product was very nice and smelled great. Easy to use and leaves you with a great smell as well. My skin was smooth and had no irritation! I also enjoyed the wooden bowl container that it comes in.
Huge fan of AOS and this soap lasts a long time . Totally worth the money and smells nice too. This develops a great lather and "wakes" up the hairs to provide a close shave.

I've been loving using this soap when shaving and having it in the wooden bowl is fantastic. It makes my skin feel nice and soft and the razor glides nicely and provides a great and smooth cut. _x000D_

The smell of the shave lather was amazing, it smelled like very hip aftershave. I was able to get a smooth shave, and the smell lasted after washing away the lather. The reason for 4 out of 5 stars was because i felt like the razer burn was about the same as always.
I was a little bit skeptical of using the soap for producing lather for shave and wanted to try to see if this would still help me do a close shave. I was surprised to see great results with great lather and the sandalwood fragrance is just great. The shave was very close and I enjoyed the experience.
This shaving cream just filled the senses with a sandalwood smell. It lathers up a decent amount, I would prefer more of a lather. I had to keep applying it before it would dry out. Overall helps give a nice shave, just too much fragrance for my taste.
The scent is amazing, and it complements the shaving experience beautifully. I would recommend it to anyone. It makes enough bubbles but they dissipate after some time, meaning that you'll need to add more soap.
This shaving cream has a wonderful sandalwood aroma that reminds me of one of my favorite designer colognes. The wood container that the shaving cream bar resides in, is very classy looking, and allows for an easy process of creating a lather with a shaving cream brush. The lather remains nice and fluffy, as you transfer the cream to your face, and it allows for your razor to shave very close to your skin. I really enjoyed my first experience with this shaving cream!
