Works as advertised.
The jury was out on this strop paste for a while. Fortunately, I applied it to the canvas side of my strop, because while it goes on pasty white, it turns black as soon as you actually use it to strop your razor. This is likely due to the aluminum oxide particles in the paste. Had I used it on the leather side of my strop, it would have been completely ruined. As I said, fortunately, I read a review online that said to use it on the canvas strop. As I wasn't using the canvas strop at the time (I was a beginner), that's what I did. Now it's as if I have two strops in one: The canvas side that I use the paste with, and the leather side which I use mink oil shoe conditioner with. Whenever the blade of my razor feels a bit dull, I do about 20 round trips on the canvas side and then strop it as usual on the leather (after wiping it off with a towel to remove any of the black paste). Now my razor sings beautifully on the leather, so you can tell it's sharp.
